Simply Awesome!

We happened by this unique spot while traveling to New Orleans. We weren't sure what to expect as the outside seemed rustic. What a nice surprise once we ventured inside. The whole place is decorated with neat and interesting items and the dining area is beautiful with tablecloths and candlelight! They right away brought us free chips and salsa, which was outstanding. A duo were playing some music which we thought very nice. I had their alfredo with grilled shrimp and my husband had a huge steak. We were more than pleased with the food. We each ordered pie, made by the owner's wife and finished our night out on the deck listening to some people singing at kareoke. We loved this place and have never been treated so well at a restaurant. If we ever get back to the area we will be sure and visit again.

Helpful Hint

After a long day of traveling from out of state we stopped in after the hotel recommended the Broken Spoke for dinner. We found it to be just another bar with food with an overrated, overpriced steak. The employees were not very friendly and the service was poor. Best if you pass-up the Broken Spoke for dinner.

Exceptional Quality

We stopped in for dinner after being on the lake all day and were pleasantly surprised. I had one of their steaks and I must say it was the best I've ever had at a restaurant. We had at least four different people bring and pick up things from our table, plus the server who was a delight. The owner came around and told us a crazy story about his sailboat. After we ate, we stayed a while longer and listened to the guitar player out on the deck. We had a great time and are sure to make this a part of our regular Pickwick weekend.
